This formatter goes further: it also cleans up whitespace and blank lines, separates out @mentions into their own list, and returns a version of the caption with hashtags and mentions stripped out so you can see the plain text on its own.
It removes trailing spaces at the end of each line, collapses three or more blank lines down to one, and puts any bare URL on its own line — the same normalization used by the description cleaner tools, applied before the mentions and hashtags are split out.
Mentions keep their original casing exactly as typed. Hashtags, however, are lowercased and deduplicated in the Hashtags section, matching how Instagram treats hashtags as case-insensitive.
