Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Small Web Apps collects, what it does not collect, and how third parties — principally Google — use cookies and similar technologies when you visit this site. It applies to smallwebapps.com and every tool and guide page on it.

1. Who runs this site

Small Web Apps is an independent project built and operated by Lucas Diniz as an individual, not as a registered company. For the purposes of the EU and UK GDPR, Lucas Diniz is the data controller for this site.

2. What the tools do with your files and text

Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser tab. When you select a file, paste text, or type into a tool, that content is processed locally using JavaScript and standard browser APIs. It is never uploaded to a server, never transmitted to us, and never stored by us. Closing or refreshing the tab discards it from memory.

This is a technical property of how the site is built, not just a promise: Small Web Apps is a static site with no application backend, no database, and no file-upload endpoint. If a future tool ever needs a network request to work, that tool's own page will say so explicitly in its limitations section.

3. What is collected automatically

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. This typically includes:

• your IP address;
• your browser type, version, and operating system (user agent);
• the page URL you requested and the referring page, if any;
• the date and time of the request.

We do not maintain our own server logs, and we do not build profiles, accounts, or mailing lists from this data. Cloudflare's handling of it is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.

4. Cookies and local storage

Small Web Apps itself sets no first-party tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for two small preferences that never leave your device:

• swa-theme — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
• swa_consent — remembers your choice from the cookie banner, so you are not asked again on every page.

Third-party cookies set by advertising are described in the next section. You can clear both local-storage values at any time through your browser's site-data settings.

5. Advertising

Small Web Apps is set up to serve advertising through Google AdSense, which is what is intended to keep the tools free to use. No ad units are being served on the site at present. The following applies whenever ads are served:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the internet.
• Third parties may also use web beacons, device identifiers, and your IP address to measure ad performance, limit how often you see the same ad, and detect invalid clicks or fraud.
• Where required by law, personalized advertising is only used after you consent through the cookie banner. If you decline, ads may still be shown but are non-personalized.

Advertising is never placed inside a tool's working area, and ads are never disguised as tool controls, navigation, or download buttons.

6. Analytics

Small Web Apps does not currently run Google Analytics or any other visitor-analytics product. If that changes, this policy will be updated before analytics is enabled, and analytics storage will remain subject to the same consent choice as advertising.

7. Your choices and controls

• The cookie banner on this site — accept or decline advertising and analytics storage. Your choice is applied through Google Consent Mode, which defaults to denied until you choose otherwise. You can change it at any time: the Cookie settings link in the footer reopens the banner with your current choice shown.
• Google Ad Settings — review the interests Google associates with you and turn off personalized ads across Google services.
• Network Advertising Initiative opt-out — opt out of interest-based ads from participating NAI member networks.
• Digital Advertising Alliance WebChoices — manage interest-based advertising from participating DAA companies.
• Google's ads opt-out page — opt out of personalized advertising served by Google specifically.
• Your browser — block or delete third-party cookies, or use private browsing. The tools on this site work normally with third-party cookies blocked.

8. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the legal basis for processing is: consent for advertising and analytics storage (Article 6(1)(a)), and legitimate interests for the security and delivery of the site (Article 6(1)(f)) — specifically, serving pages reliably and protecting the site from abuse.

You have the right to:

• request access to personal data held about you;
• request correction or erasure of that data;
• object to or request restriction of processing;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal;
• lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Because this site holds no accounts and no user database, in most cases the only personal data connected to you is held by Cloudflare and Google under their own policies. Requests sent to the contact address above will be answered, and pointed to the right controller where that applies.

9. If you are in California or another US state with privacy rights

Small Web Apps does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money. Advertising cookies set by Google may still constitute "sharing" under the CPRA; declining through the cookie banner, or using Google's opt-out links above, is the way to limit that. You may also request to know, delete, or correct personal information by writing to the contact address above, and you will not be treated differently for exercising those rights.

10. Children

This site is a general-audience developer and productivity toolset. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ad serving on this site is not configured as child-directed. If you believe a child has provided personal information here, contact us and it will be removed.

11. Data retention

We hold no user database, so there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. Tool content exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of your session. Hosting request logs are retained by Cloudflare under its own retention schedule, and advertising data is retained by Google under Google's.

12. Links to other sites

Some guides and tool pages link to external resources such as Google Takeout, documentation, or the project's GitHub repository. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially — for example if analytics is introduced, or a tool begins sending data to a server — the "last updated" date at the top will change and the change will be described here. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
