Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of smallwebapps.com and every tool, guide, and page on it (the "site"). The site is operated by Lucas Diniz as an independent project. Using the site means you accept these terms.
1. What the site provides
Small Web Apps is a collection of free utilities that run entirely inside your web browser — formatters, converters, generators, calculators, and inspection tools for PDF, image, developer, and data workflows — together with written guides explaining how to use them. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no paywalls, and no usage limits.
2. The tools are provided as-is
The site is offered free of charge and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Specifically, the site does not promise:
- uninterrupted or error-free availability;
- that any tool's output is accurate, complete, or suitable for your particular case;
- that a tool will handle files of any given size, format, or complexity;
- that a tool will remain available, unchanged, or backwards-compatible in future.
Several tools are explicitly probabilistic or best-effort — image-origin inspection, for example, reports signals and likelihoods, not verdicts. Each tool page documents its own limitations, and those limitations form part of these terms.
3. You are responsible for how you use the output
You remain responsible for reviewing any output before relying on it, for keeping your own backup of any file you process, and for deciding whether a tool is appropriate for your workflow.
Do not use these tools as the sole basis for high-stakes decisions. Nothing on this site is legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. A BMI calculator is not a medical assessment, a loan calculator is not a financing offer, and an AI-image check is not proof of a file's origin.
4. Your files stay yours
Files and text you put into a tool are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded to us. We claim no ownership of, and acquire no licence to, anything you process here — because we never receive it. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for anything unlawful, or to process content you have no right to process;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its host;
- scrape, mirror, or automate access in a way that degrades the site for other people;
- remove, obscure, or interfere with advertising, notices, or attribution on the site;
- misrepresent the site or its tools as your own product or as endorsed by anyone.
6. Advertising
Advertising is what keeps these tools free. Ads are served by Google AdSense and are placed around content, never inside a tool's working area and never disguised as tool controls.
You must not click ads to "support" the site, and you must not interact with ads through automated, misleading, or incentivized means. Doing so violates Google's policies and harms the site.
7. Intellectual property
The Small Web Apps name, design, written guides, and tool copy belong to the site's operator. The underlying source code is published on GitHub and is governed by the licence stated in that repository. Third-party libraries used by the tools remain under their own licences.
8. Third-party services and links
The site depends on third-party services — Cloudflare for hosting, Google for advertising — and links to external resources such as documentation and Google Takeout. Those services and sites operate under their own terms, which the site's operator does not control.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site's operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profit, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the site. Because the site is provided free of charge, total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability or exclusions of warranty. Where that is the case, those limitations apply only to the extent permitted, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
10. Changes and availability
Tools may be added, changed, or removed at any time, and the site may be taken offline temporarily or permanently without notice. These terms may also change; the "last updated" date above will reflect that, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the Contact page.
The short version: free tools, offered honestly and without guarantees. Your files stay on your device, you check the output before you rely on it, and you don't click the ads to be nice.
